Pole Dancing Moves

Pole Dancing Lessons

Here are a few moves to get you started, the walk around, bridge, the body ripple, the straight leg grip and the reverse hold. These postures are relatively easy for a beginner to get into.

The Walk Around

Stand tall with your shoulders back. Stick out your bum and your chest. Look at the audience. Hook your arm around the pole and on tip toes walk slowly and sexily round the pole.

The Bridge

From the Walk Around hold the pole with one hand, place the pole between your legs and still on tip toes slowly drop backwards towards the floor, curving your spine as you go until you can see the audience.

The Body Ripple

Holding the pole with one hand move into it with your shoulders, stick your bum out, ripple inwards until your stomach is on the pole, then pull out with your shoulders so that your pelvis is on the pole, repeat several times so the movement flows.

The Straight Leg Grip

For this movement you must jump onto the pole holding with both hands grip the pole between your legs. Release one hand and lean away from the pole, straighten one leg and spin around slowly in this position.

The Reverse Hold

Stand side-on to the pole. Hold the pole with both hands straight and arms above your head. Bend legs and hook the right leg around the pole so it rests in the crook of the knee. Cross both feet behind you and spin around slowly.
